About Me
I've been drawing ever since I could hold a crayon.
Eventually I began painting and fell in love with oils. Most of my work is done with a pallet knife (painters knife) although I tend to use both knife and brush. I've always been intrigued with Abstract Expressionism, children's book illustration and children's art. In children's art I admire the loose gestures and expression of raw imagination, not worrying about being exact or staying in the lines and often use this in my drawings and paintings. Often with oil paint I take advantage of the physical and intrinsic properties, using subject matter that appeals to me to exploit with endless experimentation, exploring shapes, color and texture. Much of my work is of toys, figurative, animals, and some non-objective abstraction. Much of my work is available for purchase through Etsy and Fine Art America.
